Spanish for Nurses (nursing students and other health care providers) is an independent study and group course, complete with audio, audio script, small books and flash cards -- all on one CD, playable on any CD player.

The course was developed and produced by Robin Melnick, a medical interpreter in French and Spanish with 40 years' experience designing and teaching foreign language courses. Robin specializes in teaching Spanish to health care providers and English to Hispanics.

Available both for individual and group study, the course has been approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing through the OBN Approver Unit at UVMC OBN-005-92.

16 OBN contact hours will be awarded for those who pass a post-test and who provide a student evaluation. The test and the evaluation form will be e-mailed to you upon request once you've completed the program. Tests will be graded only for those who have purchased the program.

Group Course
The Group Course is sent by e-mail to a designated contact person at no cost when 20 or more CDs are purchased by a single organization. The program is 20 units and can be used for groups as small as two, or as large as you like. It offers an effective methodology for measuring and improving proficiency, and incorporates weekly homework assignments and group activities.

Everything is provided for you with the course – all you need is a place to meet and desk or table space for each person. The Group Course can be used an unlimited number of times.

When participants are ready to take the test required for CEU credits, they send an individual e-mail requesting the test and evaluation. Their certificate is e-mailed after the test is passed.(For those unable to e-mail or receive attachments, the materials can be sent via the Post Office.)

Important: Each person will need his/her personal CD. The contact person is reponsible for providing the names and contact information for each participant to validate their request for the test and grading of the test.
